The world is peppered with these phrases. "To Infinity and Beyond!" "Above and Beyond the Call of Duty!" "Do your best!" "Be Remarkable!" Going Above and Beyond is something we consider to be our mission, not only at our client accounts but in our interactions with team members and with the community. It bleeds over into the choices we make and the areas we put our focus. But what does it really mean to go Above and Beyond? The funny thing about a cliche is that it's always based in a truth. It only becomes a cliche when it passes from someone who understands the truth and into the mind of someone who hasn't ever experienced it. Us saying, "we go Above and Beyond to serve people," may only make you think of Buzz Lightyear or Star Trek. If that sounds like you, it's nothing crazy. There's always new truth to discover in experience. So here's the deal. We go above and beyond every way we can. When we approach anything, whether a new situation or a familiar environment, our attention is focused on exceeding expectations. That might mean picking up a cup of coffee to bring home for our spouse. Or picking up the dirty socks they left on the floor...

There is no one in control of you other than you.  Even when you don’t have the power to control circumstances, you do have control over how you decide to view and respond to them. The most effective people are proactive and choose how to respond to the outside factors in their life.  This idea comes from Steven Covey’s “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” In the first chapter of his book, he explores the proactive nature of effective people.  Here are three ways to set yourself up to live with a proactive approach and take responsibility for the ways you respond to any given stimulus or situation in your life.    1. Get centered  It’s so easy to wake up and immediately scroll through email, text or social media on your smartphone. Use it as an alarm, and it’s literally the very first thing you interact with at the start of your day.  A study from research group IDC, shows that nearly 80 percent of smartphone users check their devices within the first 15 minutes of waking. When we do this, we shock our brains with waves of high stress, leading to feelings of irritability, worry, fear, anger or even paranoia throughout the day, according to...

What is service? We offer cleaning services and side-gigs within this ever-expanding region. Recently, we have also begun expanding in the Augusta, Royston, and Franklin Springs areas. But we don't limit our definition of service to "services we offer" or "areas we serve." As a company, we hold relationships, community, and service in high regard. We are always looking for a way to go above and beyond in more than just our janitorial services, in Athens and in every other place we work. We get to know the people around us and always look for ways, big and small, to serve them and make sure they know they're part of or community. What do you do in order to build community and promote service around you? One way we suggest is by getting to know the people in your spheres and the ways you can give or support them. Maybe your cubicle mate has a puppy and you find out that they love one particular kind of treat. Perhaps your company manager is passionate about hiking and you know a spot to recommend. Or maybe, like we've recently experienced, a client is battling with cancer and some way or another, your support can give them...
